NUPRC and NLNG Collaborate to Boost Gas Production

The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), led by Commissioner Oritsemeyewa Eyesan, is deepening collaboration with Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) to boost gas production. During a courtesy visit from NLNG's Managing Director, Adeley Falad, Eyesan reaffirmed NUPRC's commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment and advancing the federal government's gas agenda.

The visit highlighted the need for regulatory reforms to align with the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA). Eyesan noted that the commission is focused on engaging stakeholders monthly to address industry performance issues proactively.

She emphasized that improving investor confidence is crucial for increasing final investment decisions in the gas sector. Falad stressed the importance of upstream collaboration to sustain gas supply, mentioning that NLNG's domestic LPG strategy aims to ensure that 100% of LPG products are dedicated to the domestic market.

Looking ahead, he noted that the expected commissioning of Train 7 next year would increase production capacity by 35%.
