NMDPRA and PENGASSAN Advocate for Oil and Gas Growth

The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) and the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) underscored the necessity for transparent and stable regulatory standards to foster a safe and sustainable oil and gas industry. At the 5th PENGASSAN Energy and Labour Summit in Abuja, NMDPRA's Chief Executive, Mr. Rabiu Umar, represented by Executive Director Corporate Services and Administration, Bashir Sadiq, articulated a commitment to uphold industry rules and enforce standards.

Umar emphasized three guiding principles: firmness in regulation, fairness in conduct, and impartiality in institutions. He stated that the goal is to protect public interest while fostering confidence for investment and innovation.

The NMDPRA aims to ensure that regulatory decisions are transparent and objective, recognizing that delays could hinder growth and investment in the capital-intensive sector. The focus is on enabling progress and expanding the industry while ensuring the safety and health of staff.
