Sowore Demands Kanu's Release for Easter Celebration

Omoyele Sowore, a prominent human rights activist, has called for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), so he can celebrate Easter with his supporters. This demand was made during a protest held in Aba, where Sowore addressed a large crowd.

The protest, which aimed to advocate for Kanu's freedom, was met with a significant military presence, as a large number of soldiers were deployed to maintain order amidst fears of serious attacks from Boko Haram terrorists. Sowore emphasized the importance of justice and equity for Kanu, whom he referred to as a leader, brother, and father.

Despite the heavy security presence, the protest continued, with participants regrouping after initial dispersal attempts by security forces. The atmosphere in Aba remained tense, but the city was described as peaceful, with police patrols observed to maintain order.
