Aguocha accuses the government of applying different standards of justice to the Igbo ethnic group compared to other regions, citing Bola Tinubu's recent clemency to individuals convicted of serious crimes like drug trafficking and murder.

Despite several court rulings in Kanu's favor, he remains in detention, facing charges of treason and terrorism after being re-arrested in Kenya in 2021 by the Department of State Services (DSS).
