IPOB's Ejimakor Calls for Southeast Leaders' Action on Kanu

Aloy Ejimakor, the Special Counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), stated that the world is waiting for Southeast governors and leaders to report on progress regarding a political solution for Kanu's release. Kanu is currently serving a life sentence at the Sokoto Custodial Centre, following a judgment by the Abuja Federal High Court, which found him guilty of crimes related to his Biafra agitation.

Ejimakor emphasized that any political solution must come from a position of honour and good faith, and that the government must create a conducive environment for dialogue. He noted that past attempts at political solutions were frustrated, referencing the events of September 2017.

Ejimakor asserted that a political resolution should not come from a position of weakness but should be a standard conclusion to conflicts, as historically, political conflicts have been resolved through dialogue.
