Nigerian Court: Nnamdi Kanu Fit for Trial, Granted Private Consultation

The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) confirmed to the court that Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), is fit to stand trial as his ailment is not life-threatening. The medical report was submitted following a request by Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Abuja during Kanu's trial.

The defense team, led by Adegboyega Awomolo, presented the report, leading to the court granting Kanu six consecutive trial days starting from October 23. Additionally, Kanu's legal team was allowed a private consultation with him outside the Department of State Services (DSS) premises upon request.
