Sporting Lagos Returns to NPFL with 1-0 Victory

Sporting Lagos clinched their return to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) by defeating Osun United 1-0 in a match held on Thursday. The decisive goal was scored by Alex Leme in the 17th minute of the encounter.

Under the management of Jeffrei Butler, Sporting Lagos finished at the top of the Conference B table with a total of 36 points from 18 matches. Akwa United secured the second position in the conference despite winning their match against Solut FC 2-1.

In that match, Akwa United's Aniebiet Sundai opened the scoring in the 50th minute, followed by Michael Okenwa doubling the advantage three minutes later. Solut FC managed to reduce the deficit toward the end of the game, but it was not enough to alter the outcome.

This victory marks Sporting Lagos's return to the NPFL after a two-year absence.
