NNPC Foundation Enhances Kano Healthcare with MRI Donation

The NNPC Foundation has donated an MRI machine to improve healthcare services in Kano, Nigeria. Engr Bashir Bayo Ojulari, representing the Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Limited, emphasized the foundation's commitment to social investment in healthcare.

The newly installed MRI machine is expected to enhance diagnostic accuracy and reduce treatment delays, particularly for trauma, orthopaedic, and neurological conditions. Emmanuela Arukw, Managing Director of NNPC Foundation, noted that the project was selected for its long-term benefits, aiming to alleviate the burden on patients who previously traveled outside Kano for advanced imaging services.

Dr. Bala David highlighted the inadequacy of medical equipment as a significant challenge in healthcare development.

The MRI system will improve diagnostic capabilities at the National Orthopaedic Hospital Dala, enabling better patient care. The initiative received commendations from various stakeholders, including Dr.

Michael Akphan from the Federal Ministry of Health, who reiterated the importance of maintaining the equipment for sustained healthcare delivery.
