Philanthropist Donates Solar Power, Ultrasound to Army Hospital

Chief Patrick Akor Simon, a Kaduna-based entrepreneur and philanthropist, donated a 10kVA solar power facility and an ultrasound scan machine to the Nigerian Army hospital located at Kalapanzi Barrack, Kaduna. The donation was presented during a ceremony attended by Brigadier General Muham Umar Jibo, who emphasized the importance of public-private partnerships in addressing healthcare challenges faced by military personnel and their families.

Jibo noted that the Nigerian Army cannot solely rely on the national health insurance scheme due to its limitations. Chief Simon expressed his commitment to supporting quality healthcare for soldiers, stating that he felt compelled to contribute regardless of wealth.

The donation was acknowledged by Lieutenant Colonel J. Ufua, who thanked the donor for his intervention, and Captain J.

T. Utaan, who facilitated the project.

Chief Simon pledged to continue supporting initiatives aimed at improving healthcare delivery within military barracks.
