NNPC Completes River Niger Crossing for Ob3 Pipeline

NNPC Limited has achieved a major milestone by successfully completing the River Niger crossing for the Ob3 gas pipeline, which spans 130 kilometers from Obiafu to Obrikom. This accomplishment is crucial for expanding Nigeria's gas transmission network and unlocking the full potential of the Ob3 pipeline, designed to transport 2 billion standard cubic feet of gas per day.

Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Limited, described this achievement as a testament to the disciplined execution and technical excellence of the project team. The crossing, executed approximately two kilometers beneath the River Niger using advanced horizontal direct drilling technology, is expected to enhance energy supply reliability and support industrial growth across Nigeria.

The project aligns with the federal government's oil and gas production growth target of 3 million barrels of crude oil per day and 12 billion standard cubic feet of gas per day by 2030. NNPC Limited remains committed to translating Nigeria's oil and gas resources into improved living standards for citizens.
