NNPP, APGA lose Taraba lawmakers to PDP

Three members of the Taraba State House of Assembly have defected from their respective parties, NNPP and APGA, to join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The lawmakers, Umar Adamu, Zakari Sanusi, and Anas Shaibu, cited reasons such as better serving the interests of their constituents and aligning with the ideology and vision of the PDP.

Speaker John Kizito confirmed the defections, stating that they followed careful consideration and consultation with stakeholders. The lawmakers expressed gratitude to their former parties but believed that joining the PDP would enable them to contribute effectively to the progress of the state.

With these defections, the PDP now has 16 members in the 23-member assembly, while the APC has eight members.
