No Country Achieves Real-Time Election Result Transmission

Reno Omokri, a former presidential aide, asserted that no country in the world currently possesses the capability for real-time transmission of election results. He made this statement during a press conference on Thursday, reacting to the recent assent of the Electoral Act by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Omokri emphasized that even the United States, which is often perceived as technologically advanced, lacks such a system. He noted that requests for real-time election result transmission, such as those made to Starlink, are unachievable.

Omokri highlighted that the perception of real-time results often arises from media projections based on exit polls rather than actual election outcomes. He cautioned that relying on media projections can mislead, referencing the 2000 elections where incorrect media projections led to a premature concession that was later withdrawn.

Omokri's comments challenge the notion that real-time election result transmission is feasible or currently implemented anywhere in the world.
