Ireti Kingibe Challenges Wike on FCT Loan Approvals

Senator Ireti Kingibe, representing the Federal Capital Territory, responded to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike's dismissal of her allegations regarding unapproved loans obtained by the FCT Administration. Kingibe stated that no minister or public office holder is above scrutiny and challenged Wike to provide evidence of Senate approval for the loans.

She expressed concerns about Wike's failure to appear before the Senate for loan approvals and insisted that such matters should be transparent. Wike countered her claims, stating that government loans are included in the budget and subject to legislative approval.

He also suggested that Kingibe would not return to the Senate in 2027, endorsing former Senator Philip Aduda for the position. Kingibe rejected this assertion, emphasizing that the decision lies with the voters.

She condemned attempts to intimidate women in government, asserting that they should not be silenced for asking difficult questions or upholding their principles.
