Ireti Kingibe Challenges Wike on FCT Loan Approvals

Senator Ireti Kingibe has publicly responded to comments made by Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, asserting that she will not be intimidated regarding her stance on issues affecting the territory. In a social media post, Kingibe emphasized her responsibilities as a senator to question government decisions, demand accountability, and raise concerns about public resource usage.

She specifically challenged Wike to present official Senate records that would confirm the National Assembly's approval of loans obtained by the Federal Capital Territory Administration, stating she was unaware of any such approval being presented to the Senate. Kingibe asserted that no minister is above the law and that public officials must be subject to scrutiny.

She declared her commitment to serving the interests of the people of the Federal Capital Territory and stated that the decision of who they elect in 2027 lies solely with them, not with any individual.
