ADC Unveils Plan to Hold Politicians Accountable

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) announced a new policy framework in Abuja designed to hold politicians accountable as the country approaches the 2027 general elections. Salihu Moham Lukman, the party's Secretary, stated that the initiative aims to ensure that elected officials adhere to their campaign promises and abandon the trend of empty political pledges.

The ADC's new manifesto focuses on 12 critical sectors, including the economy, agriculture, education, healthcare, security, and infrastructure. Lukman criticized the failure of politicians to fulfill their promises, highlighting that manifestos have often been used merely as tools to secure votes.

He emphasized that the ADC will no longer allow campaign promises to be treated as ordinary political slogans. The party's framework includes strategies for implementation and aims to rebuild public trust in governance.

Lukman also criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC) for abandoning its manifesto and failing to support ordinary Nigerians since winning the presidency in 2015.
