Governor Makinde Criticizes PDP, Takes Aim at Wike During Party Secretariat Inauguration

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, during the inauguration of the Oyo State PDP secretariat in Ibadan, declared that there are no more "vagabonds" in the PDP, indirectly taking a swipe at Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike. Makinde emphasized that the PDP had grown beyond the era of vagabonds since 2015 and expelled such elements in November 2025.

He attributed the party's loss of power at the federal level in 2015 to a leadership gap within the PDP. Makinde's comments were seen as a veiled reference to Wike, who leads a rival faction within the PDP.
