Oyo Governor Makinde Vows to Expel 'Vagabonds' from PDP, Asserts Party Stability

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has declared a crackdown on disruptive elements within the People's Democratic Party (PDP), referring to them as "vagabonds." Makinde made this statement while unveiling the new PDP secretariat in Ibadan, the state capital. He emphasized the need to expel individuals previously described as vagabonds who wielded influence within the party.

Makinde highlighted the leadership vacuum created in the PDP at the federal level since losing power in 2015. He noted that a group had dominated the party for nearly a decade but was removed from its affairs in 2015 after a decade of "vagabondry." Makinde distanced his government from internal legal disputes and national leadership issues within the PDP.

He admitted to withdrawing support from certain groups aligned with him in the past and stressed his commitment to ensuring the party's stability. Makinde predicted the fading influence of these disruptive elements within the party.
