Tinubu's Economic Reforms Will Continue, Says Jimoh Ibrahim

Jimoh Ibrahim, Nigeria's Ambassador to the United Nations, stated that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will not reverse his administration's economic reforms despite the current hardships faced by Nigerians. Speaking during a parliamentary session on the sidelines of the ongoing IMF and World Bank Spring Meetings in Washington D.C., Ibrahim assured that the benefits of these reforms would soon be evident.

He acknowledged that while the reforms may cause short-term pain, they are essential for long-term growth and prosperity. Ibrahim highlighted the importance of legislative support in cushioning the effects of these reforms on citizens and urged for stronger collaboration between the legislature and executive to address economic challenges.

He also warned that global economic progress cannot be achieved without addressing rising tensions, particularly concerning Iran and the strategic Strait of Hormuz, which could disrupt oil supplies and impact economies worldwide. Ibrahim concluded by expressing gratitude to his parliamentary colleagues as he prepares to step down from his duties following his appointment as Nigeria's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the United Nations.
