Datti Baba-Ahmed, who served as the vice presidential candidate for the Labour Party during the 2023 general elections, addressed concerns regarding his relationship with Peter Obi, the party's former presidential candidate. In a recent interview, Baba-Ahmed dismissed any attempts to create a rift between them, asserting that their relationship remains cordial despite their affiliation with different political parties.

He expressed that political differences do not diminish the mutual respect and admiration they share, particularly for Obi's integrity and record in public service. Baba-Ahmed emphasized that no individual or group could disrupt the respect he holds for Obi, stating, "nobody will come between us." He reiterated that while they may belong to different political parties, their personal regard for each other remains intact.
