Peter Obi Affirms Right to Travel, Plans 2027 Run

Peter Obi, a former governor of Anambra State, stated that no individual or group can take away his constitutional right to visit any part of Nigeria. Speaking in Awka, Anambra State, he highlighted that every citizen has the constitutional right to move freely across the country.

Obi recalled his travel to Rivers State despite warnings against it, explaining that he honored a prior invitation shortly after escaping an assassination attempt in Benin. He reiterated his intent to contest the 2027 presidential election on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), citing the need for reforms in the country.

Obi's decision to leave the Labour Party (LP) was influenced by internal leadership disputes and concerns regarding the handling of court judgments related to the party, which ultimately affected his decision to switch platforms ahead of the next electoral cycle.
