NNPC Ltd Signs Landmark Gas Agreements at NOG Energy Week

During the 25th NOG Energy Week in Abuja on Tuesday, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) announced the signing of six strategic gas agreements, marking a significant milestone in Nigeria's journey toward industrial revitalization and enhanced energy security. The agreements included a gas sale aggregation agreement with Ajaokuta Steel Company Limited (ASCL) and network entry agreements with Chevron Nigeria Limited (CNL) and others.

Engr. Bayo Bashir Ojulari, CEO of NNPC Ltd, emphasized that these agreements would not only ignite Nigeria's industrialization but also enhance the domestic gas market's supply capacity.

The agreements will supply 3 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscf/d) of gas to the Ajaokuta steel complex and involve a 15-year wet gas sale purchase agreement with Seplat Energy, which will provide 200 mmscf/d for a floating LNG project. These initiatives are expected to support Nigeria's power plants and drive local content, solidifying gas's role as a catalyst for economic transformation.
