NNPC Ltd Signs Six Gas Deals for Industrial Growth
On Thursday, during the 25th NOG Energy Week in Abuja, NNPC Ltd, led by Group Chief Executive Engr. Bayo Bashir Ojulari, signed six significant gas agreements to promote industrial growth and energy security in Nigeria. These agreements include a Memorandum of Understanding for gas sale aggregation with Ajaokuta Steel Company Ltd, a gas sale agreement with UTM FLNG Ltd, and an entry agreement with Chevron Nigeria Ltd.
The partnership with Ajaokuta Steel aims to revitalize the Ajaokuta steel complex and expand domestic gas utilization. The agreements are projected to supply three million standard cubic feet per day of firm gas and 47 million standard cubic feet per day of interruptible gas to the Ajaokuta steel complex.
Additionally, a 15-year wet gas sale purchase agreement with UTM FLNG Ltd is expected to provide 200 million standard cubic feet per day of natural gas, facilitating project financing and supporting a final investment decision scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026.
