Regina Chukwu Critiques Nollywood English Industry Practices

Regina Chukwu, a Nollywood Yoruba actress, has publicly criticized the English movie industry in Nigeria, claiming it operates on a "sex for role" basis. In an interview on Oyinmomo TV, she recounted her experiences while auditioning in the English sector, stating that it is not as accommodating as the Yoruba movie industry.

Chukwu mentioned that during her attempts to audition at Winnings Hotel in Surulere, she encountered a culture where sexual favors were often expected for career advancement. She noted that despite being Igbo, she found it easier to relate to the Yoruba community, attributing her comfort to her upbringing among them.

Chukwu expressed that her inability to act in both industries has limited her popularity, particularly in her home state of Enugu, where she feels unrecognized as an actor.
