North-East Governors Launch Air Shuttle Initiative

The North-East Governors’ Forum, comprising the governors of Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba, and Yobe states, convened in Maiduguri, Borno State, to discuss regional development. They resolved to establish a regional air shuttle to facilitate faster movement of people and goods across the subregion.
This decision was part of a communiqué issued after their 13th meeting, chaired by Prof Babagana Zulum, the Governor of Borno State. Additionally, the governors agreed to collaborate with Green Ville Energy to build more Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) stations to lower transportation costs and enhance economic activities.
They also welcomed support from the Federal Government for the provision of 10,000 electric tricycles, 10 electric buses, and 300 electric taxis, expected to launch in October. The forum commended President Bola Tinubu’s focus on key infrastructure projects and urged the revival of stalled oil exploration activities in Borno State.
