Over 60% of Tinubu's Road Projects in Northern Nigeria

During a town hall meeting in Gombe State, David Umahi, the Minister of Works, disclosed that the northern region accounts for over 60% of the legacy road projects executed under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, while the southern region accounts for 40%. Umahi emphasized the federal government's commitment to equitable development across the country, stating that every state benefits from ongoing federal road projects.

He highlighted significant projects such as the Sokoto-Badagry Super Highway and the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, noting that the Sokoto-Badagry route was first conceived during the administration of former President Shehu Shagari five decades ago. Umahi expressed confidence that the ongoing projects would not be halted despite threats from critics.

Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Yahaya described the highway project as a major milestone for the state, which would serve as a catalyst for economic growth and align with the federal government's broader development agenda.
