ADC Demands End to Ban on Political Meetings in Kaduna State

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in North-West Nigeria called for the lifting of a ban on political meetings in Kaduna State, labeling the restriction as unconstitutional and indicative of growing political intolerance. The ADC stakeholders, including former Kaduna State Governor Malam Nasir, condemned the police for preventing a scheduled meeting, citing a court order.

The party accused the police of obstructing their activities under false pretenses and vowed to challenge the injunction. The ADC leadership denounced the harassment and intimidation of opposition party members, citing recent attacks and police interference in their activities as concerning signs of political intolerance in the region.
