Northern CAN Condemns Kwara Massacre, Extends Condolences to Victims' Families

The Northern Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has strongly condemned the recent massacre in Kwara State, expressing deep condolences to the families of the victims. Gunmen attacked a community in Kaiama Local Government Area, resulting in several deaths and injuries, as well as the destruction of homes and farmlands.

In a press statement issued in Kaduna, the chairman of the Northern CAN, Rev. Joseph John Hayab, described the attack as brutal and inhuman. The association mourned the grievous loss of lives and called for the restoration of peace in the affected community.

CAN commended President Bola Tinubu for the swift response of security agencies, particularly the deployment of a battalion of the Nigerian Army under Operation Sahel Sanity to carry out counter-offensive operations in the state. The statement emphasized the need for stronger collaboration and clear policy implementation to prevent further loss of lives and safeguard citizens.

CAN reaffirmed its prayer support and solidarity with the bereaved families and people of Kwara State affected by insecurity.
