NOSDRA Tops 2025 Transparency Index; Over 500 MDAs Rank Low

The National Oil Spill Detection Response Agency (NOSDRA) has been ranked as the most transparent public institution in Nigeria according to the 2025 Transparency Integrity Index (TII). The report, unveiled in Abuja by the Centre for Fiscal Transparency and Public Integrity, assessed over 575 Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

NOSDRA led the rankings with a high transparency score, followed by the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission. However, many federal institutions scored below the benchmark for openness and compliance with statutory disclosure requirements.

The index aims to enhance integrity in Nigeria's public sector by evaluating institutions' accountability and transparency levels.
