NOTAP and NUJ Collaborate to Boost Nigeria's Innovation

Dr. Obiageli Amadiobi, the Director-General of the National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP), announced a partnership with the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) during a courtesy visit on Monday at NOTAP's headquarters in Abuja.

This collaboration aims to commercialize research and enhance Nigeria's revenue by promoting indigenous innovation, technology transfer, and intellectual property awareness. NOTAP will host the National Technology and Innovation Summit at the Civic Centre in Lagos on October 7-8, 2026.

The summit will gather innovators, researchers, manufacturers, financial institutions, and investors to facilitate the commercialization of research outputs. Dr.

Amadiobi emphasized the importance of journalists in shaping public understanding of science and technology. She also discussed NOTAP's Local Vendor Policy, which has improved local capacity in the ICT sector, and plans to replicate these successes across other sectors.

Additionally, NOTAP is establishing a Technology and Innovation Hub to demonstrate emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI).
