NOTAP and NUJ Collaborate to Boost Nigeria's Innovation

The National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP), led by Director-General Dr. Obiageli Amadiobi, is partnering with the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) FCT Council to commercialize academic research findings.

This initiative aims to enhance Nigeria's revenue and promote industrial development through strategic matchmaking and funding opportunities. During a courtesy visit on Monday at NOTAP's headquarters in Abuja, Dr.

Amadiobi announced a National Technology and Innovation Summit set for October 7-8, 2026, in Lagos. The summit will gather innovators, researchers, manufacturers, financial institutions, investors, and the Bank of Industry to facilitate the commercialization of research outputs.

Dr. Amadiobi emphasized the importance of translating research findings into commercially viable products and services, which can create jobs and enhance national competitiveness.

She also highlighted NOTAP's Local Vendor Policy, which encourages Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to invest in local capacity development, particularly in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector.
