Umahi Invites EFCC to Review Ministry's Projects Amid Criticism

On Wednesday, during a press conference at the ministry's headquarters in Abuja, David Nweze Umahi, the Minister, invited the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to conduct a review of his ministry's projects. This invitation follows recent criticisms and protests against the ministry.

Umahi disclosed that the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) has already concluded part of its investigation into the ministry's operations. He maintained that all project executions adhered to due process and involved relevant officials and contractors.

Umahi stressed the importance of accountability in expenditures and defended the ministry's policies, particularly regarding the shift from asphalt to concrete roads, which he believes will ensure durability and require little maintenance. He urged journalists to prioritize accuracy in their reporting and warned against the spread of unverified information.

Despite the criticisms, Umahi remains focused on delivering projects that will improve the lives of Nigerians, asserting that the ministry has nothing to hide.
