NOWA President Advocates Welfare for Naval Families

On Thursday, Hajiya Aisha Idi Abba, the President of the Naval Officers Wives Association (NOWA), visited the Western Naval Command and NNS Beecroft in Lagos. The visit aimed to push for expanded welfare support for naval families and foster deeper collaboration with naval authorities.

During the visit, she met with Rear Admiral Abubakar Abdullahi Mustapha, the Flag Officer Commanding the Western Naval Command, and senior officers and spouses. Abba highlighted NOWA's strategic role in enhancing the welfare of naval families and commended the command's commitment to securing Nigeria's maritime domain.

Rear Admiral Mustapha outlined the command's operational strategies focused on maritime security. Abba also emphasized the importance of community engagement in combating maritime crime and acknowledged the need for sustained collaboration with traditional rulers and local stakeholders.

The visit concluded with Abba planting a tree to preserve nature and laying the foundation for a proposed officers' mess boat club to enhance recreational facilities for naval personnel.
