NPFL Golden Boot Race: Mbaoma and Arumala Tied

The competition for the NPFL golden boot has intensified, with Remo Stars forward Victor Mbaoma rejoining the league's lead scorers after scoring his 12th goal of the season in a match against his former club, Enyimba, which ended in a 2-1 defeat. Despite the loss, Mbaoma's goal allowed him to level with Ti Joseph Arumala of Ikorodu City and Katsina United, who also has 12 goals this season.

The current campaign has seen a tight contest, with Mbaoma aiming to secure his second NPFL golden boot, having previously won the accolade in 2021. Enyimba is closely trailing the lead trio, which includes Godwin Obaj of Enugu Rangers, Chidera Michael of Enyimba, and Emeka Obioma of Abia Warriors, all of whom have scored 11 goals.

Several other players remain within striking distance, with 10 goals, setting the stage for a competitive finish to the season.
