Finidi George Praises Rivers United After Draw with Nasarawa
In the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 4 fixture on Sunday, Rivers United, under the guidance of technical adviser Finidi George, played to a 1-1 draw against Nasarawa United at the Lafia City Stadium. Rivers United initially took the lead in the 66th minute when Nasarawa United defender Harrison Ebah inadvertently scored an own goal.
However, Nasarawa United equalized late in the match when Musa Yakubu converted a penalty six minutes before full time. Finidi George expressed satisfaction with his team's overall performance but noted that they defended too deep towards the end, which led to the penalty.
He mentioned that he had urged his players to push out of the box to avoid such situations. Despite the draw, Rivers United remains fourth in the NPFL table with seven points from three matches and has a game in hand.
Their next match will be against Kun Khalifat FC.
