Enugu Rangers Clinch Ninth NPFL Title; Remo Stars Relegated

Enugu Rangers won their ninth Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title on Sunday, defeating Ikorodu City 2-1. Chidieber Nwobodo scored both goals for Rangers in the 30th and 52nd minutes, while Ikorodu's Mose Ali reduced the deficit in the 58th minute.

Rangers finished the season with 68 points, led by coach Finidi George, while River United secured second place with 67 points after a 3-0 victory over Katsina United. Meanwhile, Remo Stars faced relegation after a 1-1 draw against Bendel Insurance.

Victor Mbaoma initially gave Remo the lead, but Chijiok Akuneto equalized in the 90th minute, sealing Remo's fate as they finished 16th. This marks a significant moment in NPFL history, as Remo Stars became the first defending champions to be relegated since Bayelsa United in the 2009-10 season.
