NPFL Warns Clubs of Points Deduction for Fixture Violations

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has issued a warning to clubs regarding adherence to fixture regulations for the last two matchdays of the 2025/26 season. NPFL Chief Operating Officer Davidson Owumi emphasized that any breach of these regulations could result in severe sanctions, including the deduction of three points and three goals.

The league body insists that matches on matchdays 37 and 38 must be played simultaneously to maintain the integrity of the sport and ensure fairness across the competition. Clubs have been reminded to adhere to the scheduled kick-off time of 4 PM and are prohibited from requesting changes to this schedule, even if their regular home ground is unavailable.

In cases where clubs cannot use their approved home venue, they must choose an alternative NPFL-accredited venue by the deadline of May 7, 2026. Failure to comply will result in the NPFL selecting the venue for the fixtures.
