NPFL Issues Warning on Fixture Disruption Penalties

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has issued a warning to clubs regarding the consequences of disrupting match fixtures for the 2025/26 season, particularly for matchdays 37 and 38. Davidson Owumi, the NPFL Chief Operating Officer, emphasized that all fixtures must be played simultaneously at the scheduled date and time of 4 PM to ensure fairness in the sport and protect the integrity of match results.

Clubs were reminded not to seek changes to the match dates or times, even if they face challenges with their home ground availability. If a club cannot use its regular venue, it must communicate an alternative to the NPFL.

Should a club fail to comply, the NPFL will select a venue for the fixture. The memo also stated that any breach of these directives would result in the club forfeiting three points and three goals.
