NPFL Title Race Tightens as Teams Drop Points

The Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) title race has become more competitive as Ikorodu City, Enugu Rangers, and Rivers United all dropped crucial points over the weekend. Ikorodu City, currently leading the league with 45 points from 27 matches, settled for a 1-1 draw against Bayelsa United at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos.

Olanrewaju Molad scored for Bayelsa in the 35th minute, while Ikorodu equalized in the 63rd minute. Enugu Rangers failed to find the net in a goalless draw against Katsina United, while Rivers United drew 1-1 with Enyimba, with Abiodun Joseph scoring first for Rivers before Aniekem Okon equalized.

Nasarawa United secured a 1-0 victory over Bendel Insurance, keeping them in contention with 44 points. Meanwhile, Kun Khalifat climbed off the bottom of the table with a 2-0 win against Niger Tornadoes, marking their first win since December.
