In a crucial match in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), Ikorodu City faced a heavy defeat against Plateau United, losing 4-1 on Easter Monday. This loss leaves Ikorodu City three points behind the leaders, Rangers International and Rivers United, who are both at 55 points with five games remaining in the season. Plateau United took the lead with goals from Kazeem Adeyanju and Ossi Martin in the 50th and 72nd minutes, respectively. Although Ali Mose managed to pull one back for Ikorodu City, Ossi Martin scored again in the 88th minute, sealing the victory for Plateau United and moving them to eighth place in the league with 46 points.
