NPFL Warns Clubs on Final Matchday Rules for 2025/26

The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) has issued a strong warning to clubs ahead of the final two matchdays of the 2025/26 season. NPFL Chief Operating Officer Davidson Owumi stated that any breach of fixture rules could lead to severe sanctions, including point and goal deductions.

The league insists that all matches on matchdays 37 and 38 must kick off simultaneously at 4 PM to maintain the integrity of the competition. Clubs have been reminded that requests to change match dates or kick-off times will not be accommodated, even if they face challenges with their home venues.

The NPFL has set a deadline of May 7, 2026, for clubs to notify the league of any issues regarding their accredited grounds. Matchday 37 will feature key fixtures, including Abia Warriors hosting Kun Khalifa and Enugu Rangers facing Bendel Insurance, which could significantly impact the title race and continental qualification spots.
