NRC Boss Apologizes to Journalist, Names Her Ambassador for Media Advocacy

Opeifa named Bala as an Ambassador for Media Advocacy following the incident, acknowledging his regrettable remarks made under pressure.

The apology was issued at a news conference in Abuja, where Opeifa recognized Bala's professionalism and dedication to factual reporting despite the unfortunate incident. Opeifa clarified that his comments were not intended as hostility towards the press but were a result of the intense situation at the derailment site.
