NRLA Announces Africa All-stars Rugby Match in Lagos

The Nigeria Rugby League Association (NRLA) has announced an Africa All-stars Rugby Exhibition Match set for Sunday, April 19, at Alaro City, Lagos. This landmark event aims to highlight the growth of women's rugby league across Africa.

The match will feature a historic clash between the Africa All-stars and Nigeria's women's national team, the Green Falcons, who are currently ranked among the top emerging rugby league nations globally. The Green Falcons recently made history by defeating Kenya to qualify for the Rugby League World Series in Canada, becoming the first African women's team to achieve this feat.

This exhibition match is expected to draw international attention and represents a significant moment for African rugby league, showcasing elite female athletes from Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Côte d'Ivoire, and Uganda. Abiodun Olawal Cole, chairman of the NRLA, emphasized that the event is a celebration of progress and aims to inspire the next generation of female athletes while reinforcing Nigeria's position at the forefront of rugby league development in Africa.
