NSC Reveals Team Nigeria Ambassadors for 2026 Games

The National Sports Commission (NSC) has announced the Team Nigeria ambassadors for the upcoming Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, which will occur from July 23 to August 2, 2026. The ambassadorial team includes notable figures such as Mallam Saleh Ahmadu, Dr.

Amo Adamu, Chief Patrick Ekeji, Alhassan Yakmut, and Gbenga Elegbeleye, all of whom have previously served in various capacities within the NSC. The team also features celebrated athletes, including Olympic medallists Daniel Igali and Blessing Oborodudu, alongside other prominent sports figures like Tajudeen Ogunbad, Khadijat Sulaiman, and Victor Iroel.

The initiative aims to enhance Nigeria's preparations for the tournament and strengthen corporate partnerships, with Wale Adeniyi, the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, also appointed to reflect a blend of administrative experience and athletic insight. The Glasgow Commonwealth Games will host 74 nations and territories, featuring competitions across 10 sports, including athletics, swimming, boxing, cycling, gymnastics, and para-sports.
