NSCDC Dismantles Baby Factory in Badagry, Rescues 28

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Lagos State Command conducted a raid on a baby factory in Badagry, resulting in the arrest of two suspects and the rescue of 28 victims. The operation, which took place on a Friday, was led by Mr.

Adedotun Keshinro and followed direct orders from Command General Ahm Abubakar Audi. This initiative is part of an intensified, technology-driven effort against criminal activities nationwide.

The raid was informed by three weeks of intelligence-led surveillance, which revealed that the suspects were using a Facebook account to lure pregnant women with promises of payments ranging from 500,000 to 1 million naira in exchange for baby deliveries. Among the rescued victims were 17 pregnant women, one adult male, and 10 children, including infants.

Preliminary findings indicated that some victims had lost pregnancies due to harsh and unhealthy conditions. Items recovered from the premises included a pump machine, six standing fans, two gas cylinders, a large cooking pot, five Android phones, four large mats, and assorted food items.

Keshinro condemned the operation of the facility, describing it as inhumane and driven by greed.
