NSCDC Arrests 210 Suspects for Vandalism and Fraud

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Ogun State Command arrested 210 suspects involved in offenses ranging from vandalism to fraud over the past six months. Remilekun Ekundayo, the command's spokesperson, disclosed these details during a visit to the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Ogun Council in Abeokuta on Wednesday.

The command successfully recovered N23 million linked to fraud cases and resolved 1,700 disputes through alternative dispute resolution mechanisms during the review period. Ekundayo emphasized the NSCDC's commitment to intelligence-driven operations aimed at preventing severe criminal activities and protecting critical national assets, including pipelines and railway corridors.

She noted the importance of collaboration with the media to enhance public awareness of security issues. Wale Olanrewaju, the state chairman of the NUJ, assured the command of continued support in reporting security matters accurately and promptly.
