NSCDC Akwa Ibom Denies Allegations of Shielding Officers

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Akwa Ibom State Command, led by Commandant Geraldin Abetianb, issued a statement on Tuesday denying allegations of shielding personnel found wanting in their duties. The command described these allegations as malicious and misleading, asserting that they have a cordial working relationship with other security agencies in the state.

Ekeret, the command's public relations officer, clarified that the head of the anti-vandal unit was incorrectly identified as Mike Asibor, stating that SC Michael Asibor is not affiliated with the NSCDC in Akwa Ibom. The command also addressed claims regarding the refusal to distribute a technological operational system pack for drones, asserting that they had received the equipment earlier in the year and had successfully trained personnel to operate it.

The NSCDC emphasized its commitment to protecting national assets and urged media organizations to verify information before publication to avoid misleading the public.
