NSCDC Sanctions 79 Officers for Misconduct and Arrests 12

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has taken significant disciplinary actions against 79 personnel for professional misconduct and arrested 12 suspects involved in critical infrastructure vandalism and illegal arms dealing. A press statement from Babawale Afolabi, Assistant Commandant of Corps and National Public Relations Officer, detailed that the Commandant General, Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, emphasized the Corps' commitment to transparency and public safety.

Investigations led to the conclusion of disciplinary proceedings for 75 personnel, including an Assistant Commandant General, two Deputy Commandants, 35 Senior Officers, and 37 Junior Officers, with infractions ranging from job racketeering to acts prejudicial to state security. Sanctions included dismissals, compulsory retirements, and recommendations for criminal prosecution.

Notably, two personnel were dismissed and recommended for prosecution following an incident on February 18, 2026, in Nasarawa State, which resulted in the death of Mining Marshals Location Commander Levi Agada. Additionally, four personnel are undergoing disciplinary proceedings related to illegal arms dealing.
