NSCDC Arrests Rayyanu Ibrahim for Water Station Vandalism

Rayyanu Ibrahim, a 35-year-old man from Kurima, Birnin Kudu, was arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Jigawa State Command, for alleged theft and vandalism of an armoured cable at the Birnin Kudu Township Water Station. The incident occurred around 4am on Sunday, September 20, 2026, when the facility's electrical installations were reportedly tampered with.

Following a report of the vandalism, the Divisional Officer of the Birnin Kudu Division, CSC A. S.

Adam, mobilized operatives to investigate. Acting on credible intelligence from the Birnin Kudu Peace and Security Group, the operatives arrested Ibrahim at approximately 11:00hrs on the same day, recovering the stolen cable as evidence.

During preliminary investigations, Ibrahim confessed to his involvement and indicated participation in other cable thefts, stating that the stolen cables were sold to scrap dealers. The NSCDC has expanded its investigation to identify other individuals involved in these criminal activities, with Ibrahim remaining in custody as inquiries continue.
