NSCIA Calls for Justice Over Benue, Kaduna Killings

The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), represented by its President General, Alhaji Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar, condemned the increasing attacks on Muslims and called for justice over the recent killings in Benue and Kaduna states. The council expressed concern over the murder of Alhaji Ardo Risku Muhammad, the Benue State chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, and Mallam Yakubu Isah, who were reportedly killed while attending a peace meeting in Otukpo.

NSCIA criticized the media for alleged double standards in reporting crimes involving suspects of different religious backgrounds and warned that such narratives could fuel mistrust and threaten national cohesion. The council urged security agencies to investigate these violent crimes thoroughly and ensure that perpetrators are prosecuted transparently.

Additionally, NSCIA called on religious leaders to avoid statements that could incite tension and emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and unity among Nigeria's diverse faith communities.
