NSCIA Condemns Borno School Abduction, Calls for Action

The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), led by Sultan of Sokoto Alhaji Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar, expressed profound outrage over the recent abduction of students and a teacher from Dure Teacher's Secondary School in Lassa Town, Askira Uba Local Government Area, Borno State. In a statement by Abba Jimoh, the council condemned the barbaric attack, which included the murder of a teacher and the abduction of innocent students.

The NSCIA emphasized that such acts of kidnapping and murder are crimes against humanity and called for an uncompromising national response to these terrorist threats. The council noted that this incident follows a previous abduction of 42 pupils from Mussa Primary and Junior Secondary School in the same area.

The NSCIA urged the government to enhance security measures, including intelligence gathering and surveillance, to prevent further attacks. They commended the efforts of the armed forces in rescuing abducted individuals and reiterated that terrorism has no place in Islam.
